Over Thirteen Years of Teaching
Every student gets a plan built around where they actually are. We work on sound, technique, phrasing, and interpretation using an approach I've refined with beginners, band students, pre-college flutists, and university undergraduates and graduate students.
Over Twenty Years of Performing
I perform as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player, and that goes straight into the lessons. Students learn to handle real performance situations, not just to play well in a practice room.
Auditions & Competitions
As a prize-winning flutist and an experienced competition judge, I've seen both sides of the audition panel. I help students choose and prepare repertoire, make strong recordings, and understand what judges are actually listening for.
